FAQ

BOOKING A CLASS

Do I need to book in advance?
With only 10-12 spots in each class, it is a great idea to book ahead! Particularly if you can only make specific class times.

The easiest way to lock in your session is through our booking app, Prom Health Gym. Download from Play Store (android) or App Store (Apple).

When can I start booking?
Classes open for booking 3 weeks ahead of time. This allows you to schedule your favourite sessions well ahead of time.

If you need to cancel as the class approaches - then use our app to cancel and reschedule. Be sure to check out our Late Cancel/No-Show policy.

What happens if a class is full?
Join the waitlist!

Our waitlist automatically fills spaces that become available in classes to people on the waitlist. Please make sure that your email and in-app notifications are turned on so you don’t miss the notification. Our cancellation rules still apply if you get into a class via the waitlist - so please keep your eye out for updates!

WAITLIST INFO

How will I know if I get a spot?

You will recieve an email and in app notification with a booking confirmation for the upcoming class.

The waitlist will stop automatically filling spots 12 hours before the class - for example, so you can go to sleep the night before knowing that you have or haven't made it into a 6am class.

COMING TO CLASS

When should I arrive?
Doors open 15 minutes before each class. Doors lock right on the class start time—no late entries.

First timer or trying a new class?

If you are new to our gym or are trying a new class type - we welcome you to arrive at least 10 minutes early so we can properly meet one another, give you the chance to share any relevant goals or injury history. We can have you settled in and comfortable well before the class starts.

What should I bring?

Check our class styles page for specifics, but as a rule:

  • Gym classes: sweat towel & a water bottle.

  • Mat classes: full length towel to put over your mat (soak up sweat!) & a water bottle.

    • If you forget your towel, borrow ours for $3.

    • Need more grip on the mat - BYO additional mat to place on top of ours.

  • Water bottles: No glass please, we want to avoid breakages. Particularly, in classes in which participants are barefoot.

    • Refills? We have a great chilled water refill station for you to use. Top up!

    • We have cups available if you're thirsty and have no bottle as well.

What if I arrive and the door is locked?

Unfortunately, this means that the class has started and we aren't able to let you join the class. Letting in late-comers impacts other class goers experience by taking the instructor away from the class.

If they are able, our instructors may send a message to you in the final minutes before class to see if you are on your way.

Can I bring my child or pet?We love them—but to maintain a focused and safe environment, we ask that all little ones and furry friends stay home.

First time in a heated class?
All mat sessions are held in a heated room. Expect to sweat and feel challenged! The warmth helps with flexibility and focus. Instructors will guide you with options to suit your level. Just bring plenty of water and your towel—you’ll leave feeling refreshed and recharged.

Note: Some people may experience dizziness or lightheadness at times during a hot class. If you experience this, you are welcome at any time to exit the room &  take a break. Rejoin when ready or discuss with our instructors after class. If you experience dizziness or fluctuations in blood pressure in day to day life then please let our team know before class. That way we can better support you!

Can I complete back-to-back classes?

In the gym - why not! We've designed our schedule to allow people to pair up different class types.

In our heated classes - caution & plan well!

The infra-red heat creates an additional demand on the body. You might not feel the effect of these demands until well after class such as signs of dehydration & fatigue. Similiarly to how sunburn or sun-exposure can impact us hours after we've left the beach. Therefore, back to back hot classes are not recommended. Instead try pairing hot classes with a pilates load, pilates form or stretch & roll class afterwards to create a more sustainable exercise routine.

What if I look silly in class, or if people are watching me?

Believe it or not, but most people are busy focusing on their mat or station and the instructors direction!

It's natural to feel vulnerable when undertaking exercise in a new way or place. Everyone is welcome here. We are a friendly group that is uplifting and non-judgemental.

To us - exercise and movement is about how you feel, rather than how you look! So the best thing we can do, is listen to our body and take everything at your own pace. Try modifications and challenges, seek extra rest breaks when you need. No one recieves a special prize for completing every second of the class. Be kind to yourself and don't take things too seriously. We want people to enjoy themselves and leave feeling great!

Please let us know before class if there is anything specific you need help with, remembering that our fantastic instructors are here to support you.

CANCELLATIONS & NO SHOWS

What’s your cancellation policy?
Cancel your class through the Prom Health Gym app at least 12 hours before it starts. No cancellations will be accepted via email or phone.

Cancelling more than 12 hours before class.

If you need to cancel <12 hours before class, or know that you cannot attend - we encourage you to please cancel your booking via the Prom Health Gym app. This will free up your place and allow anyone on the waitlist the opportunity to join the class..

What happens if I cancel late or don’t show?
If you cancel within 12 hours or miss the class entirely, the following applies:

  • Unlimited memberships (including Intro Offer & Bingo Challenge - both unlimited memberships):

    • Memberships only will incur a penalty fee to discourage late cancellations and no shows.

    • Due to our small class sizes we want ensure people have access to places. We also have overhead costs that need to be met.

    • Penalty fees for late cancellation $10 & no show $20.

    • Fees are charged 24 hours after class.

  • Casual/Class pass:
A loss of credit for late cancellation or non attendance.

Why 12 hours?
12 hours allows someone else on the waitlist enough notice to plan their day (or night) to take your place. Particularly if that class is early in the morning!

ATTENDING CLASS

Who can attend?
Our classes are open to all, but there are a few exceptions and things to note.

Accessibility needs?
Please reach out before booking if you have specific needs or will be attending with a support person. Everyone must have a booked spot.

Parking & entry - All doorways are access friendly, we do have compact gravel pathways leading to the entry.

We encourage you to park directly in front of the building, on street. Entry is via the path on the carwash side of the building.

Facilities - We have an ambulant toilet on site, with rails and back rest.

Pregnant or postnatal?
Before joining, consult your GP, osteopath or physio. Your ability to join or continue classes will depend in part on your pre-pregnancy fitness levels, experience in group exercise classes and stage of pregnancy. If approved, we suggest:

  • Recommended: Pilates Form, Circuit Form.

  • Please contact us for pregnancy-safe modifications. Generally, we advice people to stop attending around 36 weeks  otherwise you have sought additional clearance.

  • After birth, we recommend waiting at least 6 weeks and consult your doctor or a women's pelvic floor physio before returning.

Injured or returning from injury?
Group classes may not be suitable for injuries. If you are returning from injury, consider classes such as Pilates Form or Circuit Form to get you started. Generally, in group classes participants will need to be able to get on and off the floor easily, hold positions such as a plank on hands or elbows etc.

Please check with your health professional or make an appointment with one of our osteopaths before attending. Our team can assess your injury, current function/ability and make recommendations about which class/es suit your need's best. They can also create a 'return to class' plan for you if you're not quite ready to join group exercise.

Under 16?
The minimum age is 14 for our classes.

As per our clinic, we ask a parent or guardian to attend the first session.
