The Port Fairy Marathon was on Sunday 16th of Feb. The day prior was horrendous weather with rain and strong winds, but fortunately the skies had cleared by Sunday. We were greeted with light winds blowing off the coast and temperatures that were ideal for running!
Prom Health's Osteopath Laura Malady scored a new personal best time and came fourth in the women. This was a 5 min PB from her run at the Gold Coast Marathon in July 2024. Laura felt very supported on the course with her parents, David Iser (who serendipitously was in town on the same weekend!), Xavier and support dog Susie cheering her on.
This week, she was interviewed by the 'Better with Running' podcast about her training block and race experience. Listen out for special mentions to the best cheerleader in South Gippsland and Toora local, Terese English, and the upcoming Toora Triathlon. Back in December 2024, Laura was interviewed by the same podcast about her Gold Coast Marathon efforts and what it is like to work with a running coach to set and reach goals. If you would like to hear more follow the link below.
She apologies in advance for the somewhat embarassing food chat at the end!!
